October kept our team busy and vigilant, with 21 incidents reported across 6 areas and 4 arrests made.
Copper theft continues to dominate local crime, with pipes and fittings being targeted repeatedly. These hits are quick, quiet and expensive — but many can be prevented. Perimeter beams and wireless alarm devices can pick up movement early and alert our Response team before suspects get the chance to strike.

Our Strategic Surveillance Unit — previously known as the Community CCTV network — continues to play a vital role in local safety. This upgraded, more formal name reflects the growing scale and effectiveness of the camera network, which helps us identify suspects, track movement, and prevent further crime. Our partnership with Nightwatch Neighbourhood Watch also remains a cornerstone of community protection, and together we’re making strong progress in safeguarding our coastal areas.
